Valeria Brinton marries Eustace Woodville despite objections from Woodville's family leading to disquiet for Valeria's own family and friends. Wilkie Collins writing is timeless, and his insight of the emotions and character of women are amazing!
I have read several of Mr. Collins books, and can honestly tell you ~ this was my favorite!
Why? I can't say... But it held me in its grip, from the first page to the last; Probably because I relate to the obstinate determination
displayed by his heroin in this book.
Suspenseful
A nail biter. No influences of any collaboration with Dickens. Wilkie Collins at his very best. A very easy enjoyable read. I highly recommend it.
