Publisher Description
A man is good for only one thing.
Dr. Marietta Dalrymple wants a baby, but all she wants from a man is his sperm. A professor of evolutionary biology, Marietta can explain away romantic love with scholarly theories of why men and women are compelled to copulate. Monogamy, she believes, is a state most males can’t achieve.
So what is Marietta to do after she mistakes Cash “Jax” Jackson for the carefully screened sperm donor she hired to impregnate her? Especially when Jax doesn’t know anything about the legal document the other man signed relinquishing all rights to the child.
Jax soon sets his sights on more than Marietta’s unborn baby. But can he prove to her that romantic love truly does exist? Or will the secret he’s keeping destroy any chance these unlikely lovers have at happiness?

Misconception
Loved the book, but hated all the typos.
As a....
Update 9/17: Finished the book and I must reiterate that this is a good read. Absolutely found the ending perfect. Raising my rating to 5 stars and find myself comparing this story to the trilogy I am reading - the Crossfire series. I will read another Ms. Darlene Gardner book in the future and I do recommend this book.
Original review: As a male reviewer I must admit it is an interesting read, but explained to a friend that Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter may be more likely to be true than this story between Jax and Marietta. Although I did not get this book expecting a factual story, the author did a great job in keeping me interested. I am an avid reader of "solving crimes" so I wanted something completely different and off the wall - so I certainly got what I wished for.
Good story Ms. Gardner, as I am still reading it, so the interest level is still strong in this one. Guess there is no "sequel" about these two characters? If so I will look for it...if not, why not?
Genial
