Sending letters to our soldiers.
Once I got acclimated to the characters, I was able to gain a better understanding of the story. I felt overwhelmed at first being introduced to so many people.
The chapters go from past to present frequently. It's kind of hard to keep track of the timeline. I had to ignore this feature in order to keep the flow of the story moving in the direction I was comfortable with.
Shane is a soldier and an admirable character. Jenn is a sweet and misunderstood girl. A lot of people can relate to her. Many people get overlooked and ignored in life. Many people have higher expectations than others. It's nice to find people who can accept you for who you are. It's rewarding.
I love the honesty and openness of Shane and Jenn. The story was a little rushed. It was kind of predictable, but I still enjoyed the journey.
I think Shane's strength as a soldier is inspiring. Shane has handled living as a civilian and a soldier quite well. The grief and loss of fellow soldiers is a difficult situation but Shane handles these situations with pride. Everything comes together nicely in this short sweet story.
