Original and Unique
What an amazing story! The Nurse's Newborn Gift by Wendy S Marcus was unlike any other story I have ever read. The plot was unique and fantastic. Marcus takes us on an interesting journey with a new mother giving the gift of life to people that have felt so much pain and loss. In the process a romance is explored that started many years ago but was never given the chance to fully play out. It's a refreshing read that is different from so many typical romance books and I found myself turning pages as fast as I could.
We met Krissy as sister to Kira in The Doctor She Always Dreamed Of but we didn't get to see her true self - just who she was through Kira. In this story we meet a completely different side to Krissy. We also meet Spencer in and boy did I dislike him at first. He was mean and judgmental and I didn't have a lot of patience for him. He slowly started to grow on me, however; as I saw how much he cared for Krissy and learned why his emotions got the best of him. I could even relate at times.
Marcus does an amazing job of engaging the reader through the characters' emotions. I felt Krissy's emotions - her fear at the thought of giving birth; the defeat and sadness when others didn't believe in her; the hope when she found true love; and the pure joy of being a new mom. The intimate scenes are so well done with the right amount of show and tell that the reader feels like they are living it out with them.
The Nurse's Newborn Gift is a heart warming, sexy, emotional romance that left me sighing and wanting more. The ending and epilogue are absolutely a perfect. I thoroughly enjoyed this story and I highly recommend you give it a read. You will love it.
