Publisher Description
Lately, I have noticed more and more information on how to apply the various newer technologies to learning. One particular discussion surrounds the use of the phone by students in K-12 education. When I was in school, there was no such thing as a cell phone. When I was a practicing professional in a library, there were cell phones, but they were forbidden in the classroom and for that matter, in the entire school. Easing up on this rule came only after parents demanded that their children be allowed to carry them for safety and check-in. However, at no time were phones viewed as learning tools for students. Today, this is not the case.
