Princess Brianna of Tullymullagh is determined to marry only for love—until her father’s holding is conquered and the king decrees that she must wed one of the victor’s sons. Thinking she can outwit this condition, Brianna issues a challenge: the son who brings her a gift that makes her laugh will win her hand.
Thus begins the Bride Quest of the three brothers Fitzgavin.
Burke and Rowan, knights both, ride out on Brianna’s quest, each intent upon triumph. Only Luc refuses to participate, for he knows that a princess had no place in the life of a battle-weary warrior like himself. Brianna is not inclined to accept his refusal—she tempts him and awakens his slumbering senses with her alluring beauty and her sweet kisses. Luc has sworn to lay down his sword forever—until he is the sole one who can defend the fair maiden who has claimed his shielded heart.
Worth the read!
After I downloaded this book I originally passed it over for another one because I was intimidated by the length. However, I ended up finishing the other and decking straight into this, staying up into the wee hours of the morning to finish!! I barely noticed it was a longer read- it didn’t drag and the story drew me in page after page, even after as the reader I guessed the villain. Only the first scene came off as a little fanciful, but I think after reading the whole book it is because it’s so surreal to the princess herself. She’s spent her whole life inside safe walls, protected and very spoiled (although not to rottenness.) And her knight calls her out on it over and over, loving her for who she is, as she continues to grow. This one was well worth the read!
A Beautiful storyline and characters. The Princess Will have you up late turning page after page! A little mystery woven into a fabulous time in history, a must read if you are a romantic!
Loved the book, an the people.
