The Red Etin

There was a widow who lived on a farmer’s land, which was rented by her. She had two sons. She told her eldest son to take a can and bring her water from a well and she would bake a cake for him. He brought a little bit of water and his mother baked a small cake. He wanted the better cake and went to another well, but on the road he met a stranger who warned him that on his way there were a lot of beasts which he had never seen.
