The Rise of Fortune and Fury

Ok. First off I was almost getting ready to give this book 3 Stars because something happened that I DID NOT LIKE...AT ALL. Luckily for me, as a reader, it was remedied quickly. So my review went back to a 5. This was definitely a heart racing series. I was so impressed with it. I have never read this genre of books and was pleasantly surprised. I was so entertained and absolutely loved every minute. I was seriously enthralled.

I loved the modern day reference to The Goonies (which I will stop and watch anytime it is on).

I will say this, which I believe I mentioned in my review for A Battle of Blood and Stone, this would not have worked in just a few books. It really needed all 5. The story was that in depth. And I waited until this book came out to read the entire series. I am so glad I waited. I am not patient, as I doubt I could wait until the next book in the series to come out.

5 fantabulous stars for the epic conclusion of this amazing series! Carrick and Finley's journey is definitely one for the ages! And one I won't soon forget. Sawyer Bennett branched out into this genre with this series and I certainly hope this is not the last from this side of her incredible storytelling talents. I absolutely loved this book, this conclusion, this whole series. But most of all, I love Carrick and Finley. Together they have the power to take on anything! Even the end of the world! AMAZING!!!!!

This book is everything and talk about a phenomenal end to the Chronicles of the Stone Veil series! The Rise of Fortune and Fury is the epic conclusion to Finley and Carrick’s story and it did not disappoint. This novel moves at a fast pace and is full of suspense, intrigue, action, and romance and of course a few twists that will keep you on your toes. True to this author’s previous works in the series, the world building within the pages is nothing short of spectacular and the character development is impeccable. I was so immersed in the story that I was unable to put the book down.

Finley and Carrick remain strong characters with a palpable chemistry between them. Finley is brave and resilient and continues to evolve into a woman that one cannot help but admire. Carrick is simply delicious and I enjoyed his interactions with Finley. This book never has a dull moment as Kymaris is so close to achieving her goal of taking over the earth realm. I was on the edge of my seat the entire time; waiting in suspense to see what would happen. Just how was Finley going to fulfill the prophecy? Would she succeed and would there be casualties?

I can honestly say that this entire series exceeded all of my expectations. It is rare that each book is so expertly written that all novels were 5-star reads for me. The underling story was original and engaging and the plot was well flushed out. The characters were unique and interesting and this includes the secondary characters as well. It was hard to not become attached to them. This novel left me with a bittersweet feeling as the ending was absolutely perfect but I am also sad it is over as I have grown to love the characters so much. I truly hope that this author continues to dip her toes into the paranormal romance world as she truly has excelled at crafting a fantastical series complete with impressive world building, an entertaining storyline, and likable characters.
