Publisher Description
The Fever burned hot and bright across a world unprepared for the devastation the virus would bring. Silence dominated the shattered wasteland left behind. Cell phones no longer worked. Static hissed from the old radio. No ships sailed through the nearby inlet. No airliners carved white trails across the sky overhead.
Stranded on a lonely barrier island, William Hill struggled to make it through a brutal winter. The days of easy food from the ocean vanished when the cold set in. Day by day, week by week, he watched those around him grow weaker and thinner.
The sense of isolation grew until it felt like the world had died and left the little band of castaways as the only living souls to bear witness to its passing. Even the island seemed empty and barren.
The fish had disappeared, along with the ducks, and even the shorebirds. Everything had fled.
Everything except the demons.

The Rock
All in all a nice story line, Good character development. I like these type of stories, set on real places, but with a twist of fantasy/otherworld thrown in. I like to pick an author that has a large body of continuous work, as I am a voraciously avid reader. I'm disappointed in the installment-by-installment, limitation... I want to read the story unto completion. I guess I'll learn patience,... and go find another author. Good luck Michael Stark, and hurry up!
Rock: Exodus
4.5 would be more accurate overall but without the option I felt rounding up more than down. Stark is def one of the best today when it comes to characterization. I can’t but into the story if the characters don’t sell me. Accept that it could’ve used a little better editing to take out so e redundancies, I mostly forgot I was reading a book and that’s what I’m looking for in my reality escapes. Dude tells a good tale.
Keep 'em coming
I love this story! Can't wait for the next installment!
