EXCELLENT READ!
Michael O’Leary is trying to move on after his loss of Stiles Long. He has decisions to make about his inheritance of Whitcomb Manor in England. Every day is a struggle for Michael as he’s now in England, learning a new business and the running of Whit Village and the Manor. At times he almost finds that he hasn’t thought about Stiles, but the painful memories always find their way back.
He meets his cousins George and Evaline Whit, who have worked diligently to keep the Manor running as smoothly as possible. But even with all the new business to deal with and new people to meet, he misses St. Louis, Lizzie and especially Stiles.
Lizzie is a life saver as she comes to Whit Manor for a much needed visit with Michael. She sees how Michael is still grieving for Stiles.
As days go by, Michael will deal with temptation, unwanted advances, accidents and murder. But are they truly accidents? He put’s his Pinkerton expertise to work to solving all these strange goings on. But Michael will find he is not alone, and he will have someone by his side through all the chaos.
CJ Baty has created another excellent and exciting tale for the “The Pinkerton Man” series. I think “The Secrets of Whitcomb Manor” is now the best story written out of the entire series. It’s filled with suspense, danger, secrets, surprises, temptation, love, heartbreak and joy. Amidst all the goings on CJ Baty also delivers a love that lasts forever.
Of course, no story is without Lizzie Ferguson with her enthusiasm and magnetism. The author will bring out the loyalty, love, friendship, determination that Lizzie has always emanated with Michael and Stiles.
The author provides an in-depth look into the odd relationship of Michael’s parents and the inheritance. As far as the mystery and secrets, the author keeps it intense with a lineup of new and suspicious characters: Michael’s cousins: George and Evaline Whit, Reverend Joseph Williams; brother and sister; Annie and Lyle Cumbersome, and Peter.
I highly recommend “The Secrets of Whitcomb Manor” for a spectacular murder mystery and a shocking ending. In fact, the entire “The Pinkerton Man” series is high entertainment. CJ Baty will have two surprises at the end. I’m excited about the new change in venue that CJ Baty has planned for the near future.
