Haunted, schmaunted.
Bastian, infamous playboy and the current Earl of Weymouth doesn't believe his English castle is haunted. So what if a few windows and lightbulbs shatter? That happens. OK, bleeding portraits are hard to explain… But he is not going to be deterred. Not even by Jane, a seductive-as-sin grad student who has assigned herself the task of ghost hunting at Stormclyffe Hall. All Bastian wants is to restore his ancestral home, not be distracted by her curvy hips, bedroom eyes and gorgeous smile-
Fine, maybe he does want to get naked with Ms. GhostBuster, but that's only because she practically follows him around, nosing into his daily life. And yes, because she looks so damnably sexy, however, he refuses to give into lust. No matter how much she tempts him.
But when the ghosts up the ante and try to kill them, Bastian realizes he will have to keep Jane close. Very, very close. Purely to protect her, of course.
At least that's what he tells himself. All bets-and some clothes-are off, as he shows her what a real earl is made of.

PUBLISHERS WEEKLY
Smith's first Dark Seductions novel is an alluring and haunting gothic romance about the secrets and ghosts of a cursed English noble family. In the present day, American Jane Seyton, studying for her history PhD, goes to Weymouth, England, to research the tragic events that occurred at the legendary Stormclyffe Castle. She is not prepared for the supernatural elements that possess both her and handsome Bastian Carlisle, Earl of Weymouth. Rich and evocative descriptions of the castle create an eerie backdrop for the collision of past and present lives as Bastian and Jane experience the visions and emotions of Richard and Isabelle, an earlier Earl and Countess of Weymouth, who died under suspicious circumstances in 1811. The connection between Jane and Bastian is conveyed with sensuality that is at once seductive and chilling, further capturing the sense of ominous, unearthly matters within the walls of the ancestral manor that threaten the protagonists' lives. The mystery behind Richard and Isabelle's deaths, the hauntings, and Jane and Bastian's own struggles to survive are cleverly explored, making for an enthralling plot. This unusual and spellbinding mix of Regency and contemporary romance will satisfy a wide range of readers. (BookLife)

An century's old curse
This book has everything. I loved it. Words can't describe how I felt after reading this book. Bastion believe there is a reason why all the bad things are happening to his family. In no way does he believe a curse is the reason. Jane just want the papers to prove that her dissertation is correct so she can graduate. To bad the proof she needs is in a haunted castle, guarded by a handsome Earl that won't let her near them. When these to meet sparks fly even if some of those sparks came from the ghost that are possessing them.
I was on the edge of my seat through this whole book. I even yelled out loud a couple of times. I can't wait to read more from this author
