For the first time in hardcover, here is #1 New York Times bestselling author Karen Marie Moning’s novella Into the Dreaming, a tale of Highland fantasy, star-crossed lovers, and the timeless manipulation of the ancient, immortal Unseelie king. This is Moning at her romantic, funniest finest.
Free him from his ice-borne hell . . .
Stolen from his beloved home in the Highlands of Scotland, imprisoned in the Unseelie king’s dark, frosty kingdom, Aedan MacKinnon endured centuries of torture before becoming the icy, emotionless Vengeance, the dark king’s dispatcher of death and destruction in the mortal realm.
And in his century you both may dwell . . .
Aspiring romance novelist Jane Sillee has always believed that she was born in the wrong century, but she’s managed to make a decent enough life for herself—if only she could stop having those recurring dreams about a man too perfect to exist.
In the Dreaming you have loved him . . .
Haunted every night of her life by a devastatingly sexy Highlander who comes to her while she sleeps, Jane tries to write him out of her head and heart. As a child he protected her, as a woman he loves her.
Now in the Waking you must save him . . .
When an ancient tapestry bearing the likeness of her beloved Highlander arrives on her doorstep, Jane is whisked back in time to fifteenth-century Scotland, to the castle of Dun Haakon on the isle of Skye, where she is given one chance to save her dream lover . . . or lose him forever to the Unseelie king.
Caught in a deadly game between the light and dark courts of the Fae, Jane must find a way through the ice to the heart of her Highander. But will the love of one mortal woman be enough to defeat such ancient and ruthless immortal enemies?

Into the dreaming
Excellent and very explanatory. It brought new light to the Highlander series and such great commentaries from the author. It also makes you want to start the fever series immediately. It is a very intriguing series by a surprisingly human author.
Into the Dreaming
I love Moning's books and have read everything she has written. I eagerly anticipated the release of this book, and it has left me disappointed. The story line was great. I just felt that she rushed through this one. It seemed like a "Cliff's Notes" version of one of her book. While the love scenes didn't disappoint (they never do!), the story felt rushed. I didn't get to see the relationship build or the conflict resolved. **SPOILER ALERT** I would have liked to have read about their dream interactions when she was younger, more on Aedan's time with the king, the memories and process Aedan experienced on the mainland... It left me feeling unsatisfied, though it did explain circumstances leading up to the disappearance of the Seelie Queen in the MacKayla Lane Fever Series. Still love Moning, this book just didn't meet the high standard I have come to expect from her. The bonus material didn't make up for it. I felt like they were using it to try to distract me from my disappointment with "something shiny over here".
...unfortunately and strangely dissapointed
I love this authors books, but for a romance novel, where the f was the sex!? Like nitty gritty details. It's like getting close to an orgasm and then stopping completely and getting nothing but annoyed. I loved her earlier books for the great sex scenes and since this was written awhile ago I thought it'd be just as good. But it wasn't. I'm very disappointed. She's a good writer and I love the kitty she put in the story but the whole thing seemed rushed, halfhearted, and very fake feeling. I'm supposed to get that feeling from porn, not a book!
