Another great book!
Chloe Neill again did a great job with th second book for Devil’s Isle novel series. Its about Claire Connolly who is a sensitive that was infected with magic when the veil divided. Claire is working with Liam Quinn who is a bounty hunter to catch wraiths and other fugitive paranormals. Quinn has discovered that Claire has a secret to hide. Liam also has a secret to hide. Together they will save New Orleans once again, from a terrible cult that is running around New Orleans. Will Claire’s secret come out? What is Liam’s secret? Will they save the day or will they fail?
I liked this book. It was very suspenseful and it was hard to put down. There is a romance between Liam and Claire. I can’t wait to see what happens between them. The main characters in the story where very strong. Can’t wait for the third book "The Hunt" to come out.
amazing urban fantasy read
The Sight is book 2 in the Devil’s Isle series. I highly recommend that you read this series in order. Although Neill does a great job catching you up, it just isn’t the same as getting it from the start.
Claire is a magic sensitive, living in a world where humans fear all things magic. If she is found out, at the very least, locked up on Devil’s Isle and at the worst killed. Bounty hunter, Liam, knows her secret but has not turned Claire in.
There is some speculation or Claire's true parentage and magical abilities, especially after the fall of the veil and the supernatural war that followed.
Someone is trying to bring down the veil again and it will take everything Claire and Liam can manage to protect those they love from the angry fae on the other side. Let’s just say, there are extremists of all kinds that are severely threatening their world as they know it.
Claire is a marvelous heroine. Without family, she has made family of her own in the friends and company she keeps.
Neill keeps that romantic tension simmering between Liam and Claire. They seem to be treated as a couple by all those around them even though they have kept their relationship completely non-physical.
I am simply loving this series and it is no wonder since Chloe Neill is a go to author for kick butt urban fantasies. I highly recommend, The Sight to anyone who loves an amazing urban fantasy read.
