“I just love the world of Patrick Rothfuss.” —Lin-Manuel Miranda
Deep below the University, there is a dark place. Few people know of it: a broken web of ancient passageways and abandoned rooms. A young woman lives there, tucked among the sprawling tunnels of the Underthing, snug in the heart of this forgotten place.
Her name is Auri, and she is full of mysteries.
The Slow Regard of Silent Things is a brief, bittersweet glimpse of Auri’s life, a small adventure all her own. At once joyous and haunting, this story offers a chance to see the world through Auri’s eyes. And it gives the reader a chance to learn things that only Auri knows....
In this book, Patrick Rothfuss brings us into the world of one of The Kingkiller Chronicle’s most enigmatic characters. Full of secrets and mysteries, The Slow Regard of Silent Things is the story of a broken girl trying to live in a broken world.
Customer Reviews
Loved Auri so much, now even more.
Wonderful. Thank you from another who is not quite proper true inside.
Over priced
I guess I wouldn’t be upset if this were a $2.99 book. It’s not even a book really. Just a short story.
Did not enjoy
I once had a dream where I was waiting in line. I don’t even know what I was waiting for, I just stood there behind a bunch of people for hours. I woke up from this dream exhausted and frustrated that an opportunity for something magical was wasted on something so mundane.
This is how I felt reading this book. It contributed nothing to the bigger story, was painful to read, and in my eyes made Auri less interesting than what I had imagined given the mystery surrounding her in the real books.
I really liked the first two books and thought any extra insight would be interesting, but this book did not contain it.
