The Talented Mr. Maxwell really gives you the insight of looking further than the surface and not judging others. From the outside looking in some people look like they have it all. Once peeling back the layers and getting to know someone you may realize it's just a facade and what they want others to believe. You don't always see someone's authentic self or why they are the way they are without really taking the time to get to know them and what makes them tick. Jealousy, secrets, insecurities and fear can make people do something outside of their normal character. Some things are forgivable and others are inexcusable. Will Dorrie’s mistake be forgivable or the inexcusable?
“I want substance on the inside as well as on the outside of a woman.”
I was disappointed in Dorrie at one point. For being such a strong, independent, moral driven lady she made a decision that was so against what I expected. I could understand her dilemma and what she was trying to protect, but I wish she would have stood her ground and not given into the easy out. We are all faced with decisions when backed in a corner...it's so much easier to look back and see that at a particular moment it appeared that there was no other option...there's always another other option. That one decision changed everything for Dorrie. Not only didn't it protect her...it changed her and everything she was working towards and hoping for.
“Sorry. I wanted to make it longer than that. Give me ten minutes and I promise I’ll do better.” Dorrie giggled. “You sent me to the moon. What more can a girl ask for?”
Will she be able to recover from her mistake? Has she lost respect from others, her career and Grant? Will she ever feel the trust and passion again that they shared? Will she recover from the downward spiral she sent herself into? Will she ever get to fly to the moon with Grant again?
