Publisher Description

“Gary Vaynerchuk has seen the future of marketing. The Thank You Economy shows how it's built on both the time-honored techniques of listening to and appreciating customers and newer services like Twitter that allow you to engage directly with customers at unprecedented scale and speed. The book, like Gary, is also a lot of fun and full of passion.” —Dick Costolo, chief executive officer, Twitter

Gary Vaynerchuk, the New York Times bestselling author and creator of Wine Library TV, is back with a bold and expansive look at the evolution of today's marketplace, revealing the essential factors defining and driving successful relationships between businesses and consumers. In this groundbreaking follow-up to the bestselling Crush It!, Vaynerchuk—one of Bloomberg Businessweek’s “20 People Every Entrepreneur Should Follow”—looks beyond a numbers-based analysis to explore the value of social interactions in building our economy.

I like Gary V, but this one didn't quite do it for me.

First, the good stuff - Gary's right about his concept of the Thank You Economy. What's in this book needs to be read and digested...and then acted upon by many companies out there.

What didn't I like? I didn't feel there was much off anything new being said in this book. It felt like a rehash of so many blog posts I read before the book came out.

Good news is, I still have faith in Gary

Inspiring

Love Gary's perspective. A must have book for everyone that desires a successful "social" infrastructure. These principals will spring your business to new heights! THANK YOU!

Gary's Got Something Here!

I love this guy (Gary Vaynerchuk) - so I am biased. Nonetheless, you should read this book or at least download the sample. He does not swear as much in this book as he does in "Crush It!" so that should help some of you. And, if you just thought he was some kind of zealot pushing social media at the expense of all other business tools, then you will be pleasantly surprised. The book not only offers more reasons for why social media is so important but it also illustrates how you can use social media with more traditional media and how the two can really play off each other. There are some really great anecdotes about companies like Zappos that might just make you less skeptical and you might even get a few creative ideas you can use for your business.

I highly recommend this book for both the small-time entrepreneur and the big-time Fortune 500 exec alike. If you have customers, read this book. Inspiring and informative, it helps makes sense of what social media is all about and how we can use it for our benefit and the benefit of our companies. (That last sentence applies to both the owner - and the employee with a good idea who wants to take a chance at moving up the ranks.)
