The fourth installment in Jennifer L. Armentrout’s red-hot Blood and Ash series will make your heart race in more ways than one. Poppy and Casteel have been through a lot. (We highly recommend starting this series from the beginning.) Ever since Cas offered to become the malicious Blood Queen’s prisoner in exchange for Poppy’s life, Poppy has made it her mission to destroy the evil woman’s throne. Armentrout blends fantasy and romance perfectly—we loved how the searing connection between these lovers burns bright even when they’re apart. We also enjoyed the book’s shifting points of view, especially since they finally gave us a first-person window into Casteel’s heart. If you like your complex fantasy world-building with a generous side of steamy sexiness, do not pass up The War of Two Queens.

Find and save casteel in chapter 30 when it actually gets good the first 29 chapters are just a lot of extra info and fluff
I support FBAA series
Stop trying to be fake “woke”. This series was really good. I see a lot of other people complaining about the amount of sex that’s in the book and how boring it was. I, on the other hand, enjoyed the book. I thought the story and world building was excellent. This story transports you. I’m old enough to be able to tell the difference between what’s real and what’s not. I read stories like this because I want to escape reality. I want to fantasize and go somewhere other than here. I don’t want everything to be realistic—especially when it comes to romance. This book is one of the best romance books that I’ve read in a really long time. I don’t pick up a book to over analyze every single detail for correctness. Where’s the fun in that?
I disagree with other comments. I don’t think it was too long. I love all of the vivid details that the author gives about the kingdom of Solis. It’s like a movie in my head. I love that I can picture what it looked like, what it smelled like, and what it sounded like. You can say what you want but Jennifer is a great storyteller.
From Blood and Ash they barely rose
Why oh why was this book so long?? I love sex scenes as much as the next girl, but whew, even I know when enough is enough. All these books could’ve been 300-400 pages and still been fulfilling.
Also, why build up Cas’ and Poppy’s relationship for three books just to make it crash and burn with Kieran. I love him, but the strength of a platonic relationship is just as important. I almost DNFed at the joining because I did not see that coming and I think it just soured the devoted relationship between cas and poppy. All in all I went from being slightly in love with these books to wanting close up shop and forget I ever read them. 😢😩
