Publisher Description
War is only the beginning…
From #1 New York Times bestselling author Jennifer L. Armentrout comes book four in her Blood and Ash series.
From the desperation of golden crowns…
Casteel Da’Neer knows all too well that very few are as cunning or vicious as the Blood Queen, but no one, not even him, could’ve prepared for the staggering revelations. The magnitude of what the Blood Queen has done is almost unthinkable.
And born of mortal flesh…
Nothing will stop Poppy from freeing her King and destroying everything the Blood Crown stands for. With the strength of the Primal of Life’s guards behind her, and the support of the wolven, Poppy must convince the Atlantian generals to make war her way—because there can be no retreat this time. Not if she has any hope of building a future where both kingdoms can reside in peace.
A great primal power rises…
Together, Poppy and Casteel must embrace traditions old and new to safeguard those they hold dear—to protect those who cannot defend themselves. But war is only the beginning. Ancient primal powers have already stirred, revealing the horror of what began eons ago. To end what the Blood Queen has begun, Poppy might have to become what she has been prophesied to be—what she fears the most.
As the Harbinger of Death and Destruction.
APPLE BOOKS REVIEW
The fourth installment in Jennifer L. Armentrout’s red-hot Blood and Ash series will make your heart race in more ways than one. Poppy and Casteel have been through a lot. (We highly recommend starting this series from the beginning.) Ever since Cas offered to become the malicious Blood Queen’s prisoner in exchange for Poppy’s life, Poppy has made it her mission to destroy the evil woman’s throne. Armentrout blends fantasy and romance perfectly—we loved how the searing connection between these lovers burns bright even when they’re apart. We also enjoyed the book’s shifting points of view, especially since they finally gave us a first-person window into Casteel’s heart. If you like your complex fantasy world-building with a generous side of steamy sexiness, do not pass up The War of Two Queens.
Customer Reviews
7/10
Pretty good, longer than it needed to be, and a INSANE amount of italics for no apparent reason. Story was solid, and definitely worth it, but could’ve been written more concise.
Horrible
This book took me forever to finish cos it was just so bad. It went on and on and on about basically nothing. It kept inventing characters as they popped up. Casteel comes across as a weak lovesick teenager. I mean I know it’s fantasy but his obsession for poppy was just ridiculous. The dialogue was so cheesy it was cringe everytime. And they just kept having sex no matter where they were it was ridiculous. First time I actually had to skim the erotic parts of a book to get to the actual plot! Even the sex was boring! It made me impotent!!! Geez. Will never read this author again.
Too long
While it has some good points, I felt like this was too long and could have been shorter to keep the story going.
