Publisher Description
He's the wrong cowboy for her plan… and the only one her heart wants.
Emma Holt has her life in Granite Junction planned out—become a guidance counselor for the high school, help everyone out, and quietly pine for her brother's best friend. But when he tells her that she is like his little sister, she decides it's time for a new plan: shake things up, break some rules, and maybe, just maybe, make him a little jealous.
Enter Gabe Buchanan—a bestselling novelist burned out on deadlines and big-city noise, looking for inspiration in Montana's quiet mountain town. He expects solitude, not a sassy woman who proposes a fake relationship to make his cousin jealous. Against his better judgment, Gabe plays along. After all, pretending to be Emma's cowboy might just be the distraction he needs.
But small towns have long memories, and gossip travels faster than a brushfire. What starts as a harmless ruse soon feels all too real, especially when sparks turn into something neither of them planned.
Yet when the lines between casual and interested blur, Emma has to decide if she's willing to risk her heart on the wrong cowboy—or let him ride out of her life for good.
A heartwarming small-town romance filled with laughter, heat, and second chances, The Wrong Cowboy proves that sometimes love shows up wearing boots when you least expect it.

Great start to new series —The Wrong Cowboy
I was hooked from the very beginning. Gabe is a famous writer, but has gotten writer’s block” and feels he needs a change of environment and goes to stay with his grumpy cousin, Cam Miller, to get his inspirational juices flowing. Cam is in the process of selling his ranch to move to Wyoming but Gabe offers to help him with ranching chores while he’s there. Emma, has lived in Granite Junction all her life and has a major crush on Cam. She has plans for the two of them even though Cam has never given her any indication he feels anything for her. They have been friends since she was little, he Considers her a Friend. When a Gabe meets Emma, he uses his charm on her, gets her to dance with him and even go out to dinner. Soon the attraction between them grows, but Emma know Gabe s only here for a short time then he will be gone, too. A very well written storyline and wonderful characters. I loved Gabe and felt for him in dealing with his family, especially his dads opinion of his writing as a “hobby”. Emotional read with trust issues, insecurities, feelings of being second best, plus hot chemistry for Gabe and Emma. I loved it, and look forward to more in this new series. I sure Cam has a good story!

I really enjoyed reading this book and seeing the characters of Redemption Ranch make multiple appearances. It was like catching up with old friends!
Gabe Buchanan comes to Granite Junction to visit his cousin Cam. Gabe's family runs a successful ranch and guest ranch and they want him to help run it with his other siblings. That isn't Gabe's thing. He has written a series of mystery novels based on one character, a sheriff, to solve various murders. Gabe's family sees he writing as more of a hobby than a career. His novels have taken off and he has a contract for another series. The only problem, Gabe is now suffering from writer's block. He decides visiting Cam and a change of scenery will help ease the writer's block. He stops at the local diner before going to Cam's ranch and meets a sassy waitress, Emma. Gabe is highly attracted to Emma but she is in love with his cousin.
The story was so well written and flowed beautifully. I adored the dual POV format. Getting that glimpse into the character's thoughts really help me to identify with them so much better.
This is a sexy story. The author really doesn't go into graphic details but I would only recommend this to someone over the age of 18.
