New York City interior decorator Kit Finn, the heroine of this absorbing novel of suspense from bestseller White (Eyes on You), has a one-night fling with Matt Healy, a man she meets at the end of her vacation on Islamorada in the Florida Keys. Then, on her way to the Miami airport, Matt calls to invite her to dinner at his Manhattan apartment. When Kit arrives for their date, the door is opened by a stranger who claims that he's Matt Healy, who's as surprised to see her as she is to see him. Kit resolves to find out why the man she met in Florida used someone else's identity, and what his motivation was for luring her to an apartment not his own. Her pursuit of the answers is fraught with danger to her coworkers, her business, and most especially herself. Kit doesn't know whom to trust or where to turn as the plot builds to an exciting, well-executed conclusion.

A page-turner with a sexy mystery
This book is about a girl named Kit. She ends up meeting this guy named Mat at Islamorada on a business trip. Ends up having an affair and when she gets back home Mat invites her over to his place. When she gets there it isn’t the guy she slept with and is the actual Mat Healy. Ends up a mystery of who this guy was that she met. The actual Mat had his identity stolen. Kit is in this panic/fear mode that the guy she slept with is stalking her. As she gets involved with the police and Mat’s company. Something happens to the real Mat and he ends up dead. Somewhere along the line she is still debating her feelings for him and seeing clients as a decorator. Ends up meeting this client who is a doctor and has developed a crush on her. After turning him down over a glass of wine the doctor goes crazy and robs her apartment. She thinks it was the guy she slept with since the police case is still active. Down the line another person dies and she has a hard time trusting the guy she slept with named Garett. He comes clean and says that it wasn’t him. At the end of the book it was the doctor who was behind the fraud of the company and trying to kill Kit. Anyway, good book, it got me hooked and wanting to find out who this man was. Kind of out of left field with the whole doctor thing since he wasn’t introduced early on. Other than that I am a fan of this authors books and give a rating of 5 stars!
I have read all of the books from this author and this is quite a disappointment. I don't know what happen to her writing style, but I am shocked by this poorly written book. The book is slow moving to the point I would rather watch water boil.......
I feel the book drug on and on. The characters were hard to connect with and the plot was lacking. There was no suspense and I am sorry I paid $10.99 for this book.
