Excellent Post-Apocalypse Story
I really enjoyed this book! It's post-apocalypse survivalist elements of the story reminded me of what is found in most zombie films. However, being set in the middle of an alien invasion instead of a zombie infection gives the trope a refreshing twist. The setting forces the protagonist, Jack, to learn when to make decisions that will help himself survive at the cost of others, and when to make decisions that help humanity at a cost to his own survival. The story is fast-paced and has excellent action sequences. As a US Army veteran I found the action involving the military to be done well and believably. This is a must-read for anyone who likes a good post-apocalypse story.
