TJMN Day Trip 2: McKelligon Canyon

This is book two of the TJMN Day trip series. The series is designed to showcase places that participants in the TJMN (Trans Pecos Chapter) program can visit on short day trips in and around the El Paso/ far west Texas area. The books discuss where, why and what can be done at each locale. There are six books scheduled in the series, including Transmountain Road, Bosque Wetlands and Hueco Tanks State Park.

McKelligon Canyon is a small canyon park inside the Franklin Mountain State Park, the largest urban park in the United States. The canyon is home to a variety of wildlife, fauna and flora, as well as a popular hiking and biking destination. This book looks at the geology, as well as the wildlife found in the canyon, and provides readers with some interesting activities and background about the area.
