Together For over 60 years V5

5 - Ch06 1967 - Together for over 60 years Jerry & Jean Smith have a history of love.  This series of books is dedicated to the memories of a couple dedicated to each other for eternity.  Grandparents Paul and Lurana would host or go near and far to see their grandchildren.  They would help build and play in the igloos in the winter and in the summer they provided great fun when irrigating the front yard of their Boise home. Stationed in Garden Valley, ID  Jerry and Jean welcomed another boy they named Douglas Spencer.  This time Jerry would be there for the big day.  

V5 - Ch07 1968-1970 - Jerry would stay in the Idaho mountains working for the USFS while Jean, Mother of 4 now, would stay in Boise while the children were in school.  Jean’s mother Edith was now living with us and Jean was able to take a job at a Boise bank to assist in the paying off our college debt. Edith dearly loved our children and 4 was a blessing after having raised 9 of her own on a large farm in Nebraska and cooking also for many hired farm hands.  Jerry would commute home out of the mountains every weekend of over 4+ years.  They would build there first home next door to Jerry’s parents home in Boise.  Jean would continue to manage the home while Jerry would soon be transferred to Lowman, ID.  The family would all stay together in the mountains of Idaho in the summers and split up in the winter months.  Character was built during these lonely times.  There was no time for complaint.  Son Doug walks and Jerry’s career in forestry takes off.  A reflection of the past is taken. Tribute is given to the strength and resolve of the mother of this family, Mary Jean.
