As excellent as ....
I have great respect to Mr. Northrop as a one of the greatest contemporary photographs. This book will be great as reference point to refresh your memory as Lightroom can be very tedious. But I also prefer an app to a book when I begin learning a thing. The book has a good videos connection to almost every subject but it remains a book that read like a book, meaning it lacks the correct form of interaction an app will give. So if you are a beginner start with an app and when you are comfortable with Lightroom download this book as a memory refreshing and an advance learning tool.
It’s helping me become a better photographer
I finally decided to take control of my numerous iPhoto and Aperture photo libraries. The Library training section of Tony’s Lightroom 5 Training for Photographers gave me the info I needed to migrate my photos and get them organized. Lightroom has all the tools to import the photos and videos from both of these discontinued Apple apps. Not only that, it helps you to better organize your photos (the file management tools are just fantastic). I’ve learned Importing and Exporting and am now working on learning the Develop module.
I’m becoming a better photographer and my ~20,000 photo library is better organized and much more usable than ever. Tony, thank you for your excellent books and videos, Between this book and "Stunning Digital Photography” (also by Tony Northrup), I’m improving my skill and love for this art every day.
