From New York Times bestselling suspense author Terri Blackstock comes the third installment in her gripping survival series, where fear, hunger, and suspicion threaten to tear a fragile community apart--and one young man's life hangs in the balance.
Eight months into a worldwide blackout, the residents of Oak Hollow are barely surviving. Winter has settled in, food is scarce, and desperation is beginning to eclipse compassion. In a world without power or certainty, even good people are capable of terrible choices.
When a teenage friend of the Brannings is found shot while hunting--and the deer he killed is stolen--blame falls quickly on Mark Green, the son of a convicted murderer. Before Mark has a chance to defend himself, vigilantes pressure the sheriff into making an arrest, proving just how thin the line between justice and fear has become.
Deni Branning refuses to believe Mark is guilty. As their bond deepens, she sees not a criminal, but a young man being sacrificed to the town's panic. Determined to uncover the truth, Deni and the Brannings set out to find the real killer--but clearing Mark's name is only the beginning. Protecting him from a community ready to condemn him may be even more dangerous.
True Light is a compelling choice for thriller fans who enjoy high-stakes suspense grounded in moral complexity, and an excellent pick for book clubs seeking meaningful discussion. With a thoughtful note from the author and included discussion questions, readers are invited to explore the novel's deeper themes of justice, mercy, fear, and faith long after the final page.

PUBLISHERS WEEKLY
Blackstock's third novel in the Restoration series is slow-moving in the first half, but the pace picks up considerably in the second. The Branning family and their neighbors are now eight months into a worldwide blackout, trying to make ends meet and survive one crisis after another as violence rips their community apart. With the sheriff and his deputies desperately overworked and earning only a tiny fraction of their former pay, they can no longer keep their overcrowded, disease-ridden county jail under control. That means that it's up to Deni Branning to help clear the name of boy-next-door love interest Mark Green when he's wrongly accused of attempted murder. The novel reveals a heavy hand with religion, but Blackstock's overt sermonizing does offer some strong and wise thoughts on forgiveness: "Forgiveness was not an emotion," one character reflects. "You didn't have to feel it. You just had to do it."
