Publisher Description

Charlotte McKendrick is your typical thirty-something stay-at-home mom. She has three beautiful children, a loving family, special friends, and the most wonderful, adoring husband. Her life is a dream.

Er . . . let’s try this again.

Charlotte McKendrick is not your typical thirty-something stay-at-home mom. Yes, she’s got three beautiful children, a loving family (all of them lingerers—you’ll see), and her friends are special, all right! As far as her wonderful, adoring husband, what a joke! That bastard abandoned her and the kids six months ago.

Now, she will do anything she can to survive and provide for her children. Even if it means signing on the dotted line . . .

Mitch Colton is the CEO of Colton Technologies. Most of his year is spent traveling around the world, bringing companies the latest innovations in automobile technology. He doesn’t have time for a traditional relationship and the BS that comes with it. He doesn’t do the “marriage” thing, the “kid” thing, and he certainly doesn’t do the “falling in love” thing. All that said, he still wants someone to come home to. Someone who will offer everything he wants, and nothing he doesn’t. He realizes loyalty paired with these kinds of demands won’t come cheap. No problem. What he doesn’t realize is that once Charlotte McKendrick signs that dotted line, he’ll be paying with a lot more than money.

Great book!

Under Contract (The GEG Series Book 1) by Jacquelyn Ayres

4 Stars

My first book by this author and I am blown away, I absolutely loved it! The storyline was creative and the characters well developed. I read it in one sitting as the flow of the story was smoothly written. I loved the interaction between Charlotte and Mitch right from the start, Charlotte's sassiness and the way he handled it was great. I loved the secondary characters just as much, I think my favorites were CiCi and Gram.

Watching these two start out with a strictly “business” arrangement, I knew immediately that this was not going to work, the instant connection between the two was too apparent. I felt like it crossed over a bit too quick, and would have loved seeing them fight and deny it a bit longer, but loved how real the feelings were even being as quick as it was. The texting back and forth was great, and watching him deal with losses from his past was heartbreaking, I had a moment there where I wondered if these two would ever come close to their happily ever after.

I can't wait to read the next in the series, first to check back in on this family and also because I love the characters that get the next book, and I was left with part of the storyline hanging, a major decision was made, yet I don't know if it was followed through on, I would have loved that part also to have played a bigger part in this story, that was an awesome addition.

I like this authors style, and will definitely be seeing what else she has available.

Great Book!!
