Outstanding
These characters, are old favorites, from the Jane Yellowrock series. Meeting EJ & Angie as grown ups, is awesome! The character development, pace of the story, and twist/turns, kept me GLUED. Now. I’m off to listen to the audible book!

I seldom write reviews but this is a step above! I’ve read and finished the Yellowrock series just 2 years ago (yes i was behind) and then finished her other series and was lost and searched through some very good books but nothing quite measures up to Faith Hunter.
It’s hard to write a review and not give anything away but, for me, it was like sinking into a comfy chair with a cup of tea and enjoying the journey. I had my heart in my throat too many times. Too many late nights with blurry eyes to finish one more chapter then stumbling to bed to dream about what might be next which I never came close to imagining.
Please, please, please keep writing. An outstanding read.
It’s good
Let’s start with why I gave 4 stars instead of 5:
First, the term “Chatt-town” is one used only by tourists. It’s like nails on a chalkboard to natives and long time residents of the Chattanooga area. It screams “tell me you aren’t familiar with Chattanooga without telling me you aren’t familiar with Chattanooga”.
Second, I feel the author missed an opportunity to imbue the setting with any personality whatsoever by either ignoring or being unaware of anything specific about the city. Where is Angie and EJ’s building? The North Shore? The South Side? Or was it a random corner in Anywhere, USA?
Readers look this stuff up. We like to see the setting, imagine ourselves walking those streets. The author gave us nothing to Google. No touchstones, no rabbit holes to fall into.

Now for the positive. I really liked the story. (I’ve never read the Jane Yellowrock books, but now I kinda want to.) I liked everything about it. It was tightly wound with just enough tension. The action scenes were fabulously written and made sense - meaning, I didn’t get lost in the multi-character action, particularly during the last big scene. I wish the romance had been more of a slow burn, but it worked okay.
Will I read another book about these characters if there is one?
