Publisher Description
Sofia is just a normal high school girl--worried about getting her homework done and looking cool in the lunchroom--when HE shows up: a devastatingly handsome new kid, mysteriously covered in decaying bandages and staring at her from the empty holes where his eyes should be.
She thinks he's just a hipster, but is there more to this handsome stranger than meets the eye?
Yes. He's a mummy.
We're not really making a secret about this. The twist is he's a mummy. It's a book about a girl who falls in love with a mummy.
There are young adult books about teenage girls unknowingly falling in love with vampires, werewolves, angels, demons, fairies, mermen, warlocks, dreamwalkers, and trolls. Seriously, there was one about trolls. It's time for mummies, dammit. It's time for mummies.
PUBLISHERS WEEKLY
This absurdist comic romp, the story of a girl and a mummy enduring American high school in the hot, dry Southwest, will charm fans of naive protagonists. Sofia Murdoch is just a normal high school girl with a muscle-bound best friend and an impenetrable obliviousness when she falls for Seth, the hot new kid who wears bandages and leaves piles of dust in his wake. What starts as a geography assignment on the Middle East turns into a frequently interrupted romance that spirals into more as nefarious grave robbers arrive on the scene and it becomes obvious that Sofia's mother, who abandoned her, had some surprising secrets. The book is saddled with unfortunate continuity errors and a tendency to try too hard for its jokes. This isn't the best introduction to Falcone's writing; it works somewhat as a comedy but fails as a romance. (BookLife)

100/10
Found the book on tik tok and the concept seemed hilarious. For a bunch of guys just writing for fun this project turned out to be an awesome story that one hundred and ten percent needs more. As soon as the second book comes back you know I will be here for it. The humor and story tells a beautiful story with the perfect amount of romance, comedy, and anxiety filled google searches.
