Equal parts steamy and funny, with a few genuinely creepy moments, this paranormal romance has everything -- compelling characters, plenty of witty banter, and a romance that just might be to die for.
After losing both her parents before age 17, aspiring designer Caitlin Holte feels like her whole world has been turned upside down, and that was before she accidentally attracted the attention of a demon. Then, she learns that her hot, bad-boy neighbor, Adrian -- who might have just saved her life -- is actually a half-demon vampire.
Suddenly, Caitlin is stuck with a vampire bodyguard who feels that the best way to protect her is to become her pretend boyfriend. Trouble is, Caitlin is starting to fall in love for real, while Adrian can never love a human. Caitlin trusts Adrian to keep her safe from his demon father, but will he be able to protect her heart?

NEEDS TO BE A SECOND BOOK! PLZZZZ!!!!😭😭
You will fall IN LOVE!
I never take the time to write reviews on iBooks, but this book deserves one! This book had me captivated within the first chapter (I may or may not have read it in less than 24 hours 🙊). Out of the hundreds of books that I have read, this one has been super refreshing. Romance and supernatural books tend to be kinda predictable, but this wasn't the case for velvet. Since twilight has been published, vampire books have taken on so many different forms, and by far this take on vampires has been different from the rest (in the best way possible!). The characters all have excellent back stories and are developed really well, and even though the supernatural aren't real, the author made the experiences feel real. I swooned, cried and yelled in frustration along with the main character because even though I don't have an Adrian I felt her experiences could be applied to real life ones. For a new author this book is great and I honestly hope to see it reach the too charts!!
