Sick of living under her dad’s rules, Emerson Bender bolts when she’s eighteen. On her own for the first time, she heads to the only place her mom ever lived—New York City—desperate to find the woman who dropped her off on her dad’s doorstep.
Content to spend the rest of his life in Small Town, Pennsylvania, Price Barnes is plucked out of his idyllic life by his estranged father. Missing his mom and stepfather, he’s dropped in New York City to attend college and live an all-expenses paid lifestyle. Cushy, right? But not the life he wanted.
She’s looking to fill a hole in her heart, and he’s looking to forget the man who disrupted his life. Together, they’re both wandering, looking for acceptance and hoping to forget the rejection.
Beautiful & inspiring journey to love
Emerson goes on a quest to fill the hole in her life, her missing mother. As she searches for this lost love, she never expects to find a new "family" that gives her more love than she could ever dream of. Frustrated with her father's overbearing ways, she leaves home for NYC to seek out the mother that left her on her dad's doorstep. As she works to build a life in New York, working 2 jobs to pay the bills, she looks for any lead to her mother which starts in a bakery where she meets Bev. This leads her to a college where she runs into Price. Price has been dropped into NYC by his wealthy father when all he wants is to be back on the farm with his mom and step-dad. He attends his college classes but without any real enthusiasm and then he runs into this amazing girl. But as fast as he sees her, she is gone. Fate and destiny seem to be at play as these two cross paths again. Each one dealing with issues from decisions their parents made and struggling to know their true place. I loved how this relationship evolved as they dealt with all the ups and downs that life's emotional roller coaster put them on. There are so many amazing moments and unexpected connections that showed me how much fate and destiny can truly guide your life.
