War is a racket
This is a remarkable book, it never goes out of date. Written almost a century ago and so accurate in describing modern warfare as a racket. In a famous quote by general Butler (paraphrasing) he says: I could have taught Al Capone a thing or two. He ran a racket in three cities, I ran a racket on three continents!
A must read for everyone in this war tired country!

It really opens your mind to what war really is when you cut off all the propaganda crap. Smedley butler really explains it we'll and gets straight to the point. Everyone should read this!!!!
A Must read for all citizens
This book should be required reading in every elementary school in the country. Maybe then, Americans wouldn't mindlessly support the next unnecessary war after hearing the very predictable propaganda that our media and government have become so well at producing over the past century.
