Warrick

They call me Warrick.

It's my title but I don't want it—never did. It was given me when my father and two brothers were killed. Murdered.

Being a duke isn't something I want though, there's too much scrutiny for a man like me. A man who likes the things I like, who wants to live the way I've become accustomed.

I disappeared once, and want nothing more than to do it again. But I've been given the responsibility of this tile, and with it comes marriage to a wife I've never met.

Tomorrow we take our vows.

I can only hope she'll be happy to leave me be for the balance of our days. Because if she puts so much as a single hand on me... she'll discover all my secrets.

This man, Grayson, is so much more than he lets on which... well he doesn't let on much. I've been completely uprooted from my existence and plopped down in this one but there's so much more for me here— if I could just get him to connect with me. I've felt so completely alone, lost, unwanted... until the first time our eyes caught and I knew I was looking into my future. Which, oddly enough, seems to be in the past.
