Ok, I like the book and everything it's interesting and heartbreaking. But Erin Hunter just sorta skips a really long time period. Like sorreltail's kits are apprentices and so are Daisy's. Rainwhisker and molepaw are dead. Birchpaw is now Birchfall. It's so confusing.
Erin Hunter, if you're reading this, try to explain what happens more in your book and don't just skip a bunch of events . 😄

Lightning sat at the window, staring into the forest. “ if I were you, I would get over the forest and focus on your new life “ blueberry said, trying to get his attention away from the window. “ and what, eat terrible food, sleep on a lumpy bed, and let those twolegs try to pet me? Please!” He said in a stern but sarcastic tone. “ so, you’re saying this: eat food that is provided to you everyday, sleep on a WARM bed, and live in a shelter that keeps out rain, snow and the cold? Wow, I didn’t think it would be enough for you, your highness!” She replied, smug with a roll of her eyes. He scoffed as he padded around the carpet. Blueberry got ip from the bed and walked up to lightning. “ whatcha doing?” She replied, mockingly. “ thinking about a way to get outta here of course!” He murmured as he looked to the ground in thought. He turned his head up to her. “ why don’t you come with me? It’s more freedom than this domestic prison-“ he offered before she cut in. “ because, I… don’t want to…” her voice was sharp and stern. He backed away with a sigh and walked away. - he doesn’t need to know, I like it here anyways…- blueberry thought to herself as she went back to the cat bed. Lightning looked back at the she but shook his head, + no, I need to focus on getting out of here…+ he looked at the doorknob and smirked. + aha!+ he thought of a plan. Later that evening… a loud noise came from the ground yard. “ what was that?” A twoleg said, “ I’ll go look” the twoleg went up to the ground door and cracked it open just enough for him to make his escape. Lightning had to act quick ,he carefully stepped out the door and darted behind a bush. “ hm, must be some deer..” the twoleg sighed and closed the door. + I did it! I finally did it-+ he looked through a window and saw blueberry padding around the carpet. He sighed and tapped on the window. “ huh?…. Lightning! What are you doing?! “ blueberry exclaimed. “ escaping! Come on! Go with me!” He replied turning his head to the forest. “ I can’t! I have to stay here!” She frowned. “ come on! The twolegs can get a new cat!” He called with his yellow eyes gleaming in the midday sun. “ I….” Blueberry turned as a twoleg yelled in anger, “ I’m throwing out that dumb cat! They claws up the pillows!” Blueberry’s pupils shrunk as she stumbled to get out the window. “ hurry!” She.clawed the window and fell flat on the grass. “ ow-!” Lightning covered her mouth with his paw. “ shush! They might hear us!” He looked up at the window and sighed in relief. “ come on, we can run away at night, “ the pair ran across the grass as the sun dipped below the sky.
