Publisher Description
When Tessa Porter returns home from work one evening to find her apartment has been broken into, the Chicago nurse is shocked when the detective who responds to her call is her sexy neighbor – the one she's been fantasizing about. She'd caught a naughty glimpse of him through her window one morning, but Quinn Donovan is even hotter in the flesh.
Quinn had spotted Tessa through his window, as well, and when he meets her in person, his reaction is hard to conceal – or control. Their passion and desire are overwhelming, but what will happen when Quinn wants more – and Tessa is hiding a secret?

Split-screen style composition. Bold Title, strong author font. Intriguing synopsis.

POV ~> Third-person
Tessa is a post-op nurse at a prominent hospital in The Windy City. Quinn is a CPD homicide detective. He's just returning home from work one night when the 911 call goes out that there was a break-in in the building next to his, so he runs over, seeing as he's closest and can respond quicker if there's danger for the resident. To his shock and surprise, the call came from the woman he had spied through his window and fantasized about ever since.
I like these two as individuals. They are smart and independent, but their chemistry is insane. When they are together, they can hardly keep their body parts to themselves. The secondary cast mostly consist of her coworkers and his family, with a smattering of other CPD and a sweet old lady across the hall. The story is dynamic, entertaining and a pleasure to read. The conflicts were mostly internal struggles that needed to be addressed, in Tessa's case, I probably would have suggested grief counseling. Unfortunately for me, I picked up on the "bad guy" immediately so I was a little disappointed in the reveal. I was also aware that the robbery detective was pretty scarce, even after the confrontation and no one mentioned him at the end, although it should have still been his case.
Implied HEA for our couple, but I think they'll be a work-in-progress in the background of future books. I look forward to reading more of this series and can't wait until Connor meets his match!
