Publisher Description

The books I've created are inspired by the paintings I've made over the years and my concern for the ecological challenges and environmental issues facing our world. We Live Inside Maps Parts 1 and 2, are the 3rd and 4th installments in The Broken Skyline series.

We Live Inside Maps Parts One and Two are a simple straightforward explanation to a difficult time in New York City. The United States Housing Bubble inspires it, with my artwork as a background. It is an introduction for readers to the bigger poem about the Financial Buyout of Wall Street.

The maps of the city report to the buildings and structures every night; They read, hear and experience these reports along with Garbage Bag who kisses his beloved Flatiron in part 1. In part 2 the City Bank building reads one night from these reports, explaining the financial buyout of Wall Street to the rest of New York City.

Follow artist-turned-author Eloy as he takes you on a whimsical journey throughout the city, highlighting its most famous landmarks. From the Flatiron building to The Empire State Building, and the Brooklyn Bridge to the Hudson river, this art book is a must-have for any New Yorker young or old.

    Maps Dictate Our Lives

Eloy returns with another installment of his Broken Skyline series full of that charming and semi ironic art as well as his own personal take on technology in the modern world. Like in the book that came before it, Eloy has once again looked to his artwork to tell the story of another New York City catastrophe, the collapse of the housing market, which effected not only New York, but the world as a whole. In the first half of this 2 part-er Eloy conveys the importance of location by superimposing his art over maps. He suggests that maps can say much more than telling us where we are and where we want to go.
