British-TV-personality-turned-mystery-novelist Richard Osman is back with a new series that’s high-octane fun. Amy Wheeler is a private bodyguard for a major international firm, currently on duty on a South Carolina island protecting Rosie D’Antonio, an aging and eccentric thriller author. Amy’s father-in-law, Steve, a retired London cop turned self-appointed private investigator for his sleepy village in the south of England, gets reluctantly pulled into Amy’s case when a mysterious smuggler attempts to pin a series of murders of small-time social media influencers on her. And the two of them—plus Rosie, who hasn’t had such a good time in years—turn out to be a pretty swell team. Osman writes here with just as much laugh-out-loud wit and sincere empathy as in his best-selling cozy Thursday Murder Club series, but the pace is faster and the stakes are higher. This book simply flies past, and every page is an absolute delight.

Characters that you can enjoy through a few harrowing twists and turns. Keeps you thinking. Fun to read and hard to put down.
Osman Strikes Gold Again
Love this book so much, it didn’t disappoint at all. The strangest personalities are cleverly woven together and mesh in a way you don’t expect. This adds to the mystery they are trying to solve. The ending is a surprise I didn’t figure out, even though I tried very hard.
You won’t regret purchasing this book, especially if you enjoyed his last series.
