The Elephant Queen Stories are inspired by the remarkable wildlife documentary The Elephant Queen, an Apple Original, now available on Apple TV+. Written by the film’s writer-director Mark Deeble, an Emmy® and Peabody Award-winning filmmaker, these books draw young readers into the world of Athena, a majestic elephant matriarch, and her family.


In Wewe and Satao, Wewe—a baby elephant who yearns to be as big as all the others grownups in his family—meets the giant tusker Satao, the biggest elephant he’s ever seen. That night, Wewe dreams of running away with Satao and having exotic adventures. But when he wakes up, Wewe realizes how lucky he is to have the love of his family protecting him in the Kingdom.
