Avery is frustrated with her lack of mobility, but, with the encouragement of her sisters, finds an outlet in documenting her recovery on social media. And after Declan walks in on Avery masturbating, the pair decide he should help her relieve her sexual tension while her mobility is limited, leading both to admit to long-hidden mutual attraction. When pot brownies inspire an out-of-character rant from Avery that she posts on her hotel's social media, the loss of a major sponsor threatens the business. In her attempts to fix her mistake, Avery pursues an alternate sponsor—with serious consequences for her fragile relationship. Hunting hits familiar notes but makes them sing, resulting in a predictable but charming love story. This is a solid pick for romance fans.

Friends to lovers
Avery & Declan have been best buds & roommates since college. They’ve seen each other through the ups & downs of life. They’ve even been okay watching each other date & cycle through random one night stands. But it’s not until Avery is seriously injured & the guilt stricken Declan insists on helping her convalesce that they start to see each other in a new light. I’m a huge fan of Helena Hunting, but I guess friends to lovers is not my thing cuz I just didn’t feel for how this relationship developed. I did enjoy the way everything wrapped up in the end & the story had a cute epilogue.

I love a best friends romance about friends who seem to be completely clueless about their feelings. It makes the angst and ending so much more satisfying.
Avery is an amazing character. She's independent, strong, driven, and loyal. She's no push over and has no problem saying what needs to be said. I really loved everything about her. She's my favorite part of this book.
I'm really hoping this is the start of a series!! There's so many opportunities for these other characters!!!
Different but great!
I read this after reading some of the Pucked series. It’s almost like it’s a totally different author. The book is still well written, but the tone is totally different - more mature, and I’m totally okay with that. It made me laugh and cry, but still had that signature Hunting heat.
