Once again after the bloodshed, the city life returns to normalcy. The recent target killing incidents devoured the lives of almost a hundred people, while scores were injured during the massacre. The butchery started on the eve of August 2nd 2010, when unknown assailants shot dead the Muttahida Qaumi Movement's (MQM) legislator Raza Haider along with his gunman Muhammad Khalid Khan in a mosque located in Nazimabad No.2, where he had gone to attend the funeral ceremony of his friend's mother. Soon after the incident, the city became a battle ground and the news of the killing of ethnic communal activists and common people aired through different channels, created a certain panic in the large groups of commuters who were out on the streets in different localities. During the mayhem complete lawlessness prevailed in the city and no official including the elected members of the assemblies both national and provincial were anywhere visible. In fact many spokespersons from both ANP and MQM started accusing each other on different TV channels, adding fuel to an already blazing fire.
