Publisher Description

Find out if love prevails in this regency retelling of how Beauty tamed the savage Beast…
Scarred at a young age, Dominique Maksylov, Royal Prince of Russia, has lived a reclusive life. As a musical prodigy, his music has wide reach into the world, but few ever see his face. He never ventures into polite society, but when he dis-covers he is the only heir to the Earldom of Harriss, he goes to one ball. And that one ball, was enough to change the direction of his life forever.
But how could he possibly have known that other person— the other half of his whole—would not only need his help but threaten his very existence?

She didn’t know how hard it would be to love the broken.
Isabelle Hartwell’s mother just sold her to the Beast of Russia. He’s mean, tem-peramental, and the most virile, handsome man she has ever encountered. But he has a secret, one he’s willing to die for and he refuses to let anyone in. Will she be able to reach his heart before it’s too late?

Awesome

I loved the first book, and I loved the second one. I just bought the third one. I cannot wait.

Terrible

This is worst of Rachel’s books that I have read. Dominique vacillated constantly. The repartee between him and the Duke is juvenile. Dominique behaves bizarrely and inconsistently and gives Isabelle no reason to fall in love with him yet she does. He’s Russian and English yet he grew up in a castle in Belgium? Duh? And after the horrible childhood violence that occurred there, and it being near the front of the war with Bonaparte, he takes his bride there because she’ll be more comfortable being closer to her family there? So stupid. And the sex was lousy if practically non-existent.

Didn't finish

I got to page 122 and I was scratching my head for the umpteenth time and re-reading a passage to try and understand what the heck I missed again.
Why did he buy her? From who??
Hunter is the friend? But he was hired?
They go from being ugly to each other to being hurt with no clear reason even though the author explained it....it didn't make sense to me.
I got clubbed over the head with the word beast and beastly so often it was insulting and I was only in chapter four. I get it. Beauty and the beast, but it should be subtle not jarring.
This book had a lot of five stars on Amazon and most of them loyal fans so maybe it's just me.
