Why Are You So Far‪?‬

“Why Are You So Far?” is the 3rd poetry collection by Jacob McKay. The book is the 3rd installment in the Adopted & Other Labels series, meant to understand life through the eyes of an adopted black kid in Middle America in the technological age. This book explores themes of religion, self-hatred, self-discovery and alienation, along with exploring how the current state of culture makes it easy to develop depression as an outsider. This book is dedicated to the island of Haiti, the authors birthplace. The cover photo was taken by Daniela Buvat. The author drew inspiration for this work from the music of 21 Savage, Lil Uzi Vert, Bon Iver, Kanye West, Jay-Z, Lil Wayne, Drake, and Kid Cudi. The series concludes with this installment.
