Why Me, Lord‪?‬

"Why Me, Lord?" speaks to the theological struggle of victims after sexual or physical abuse. It helps victims understand how a loving God could allow abuse. It helps victims understand that God wants them to be safe from harm. It answers difficult questions victims ask: Where was God when I was abused? Why didn't God answer my prayers to stop what was happening? Is God punishing me? 


"Why Me, Lord?" brings comfort and healing to victims of all ages, adult and child alike. It is fully illustrated with poignant images. "Why Me, Lord?" appeals to children, because it is illustrated, but also brings spiritual peace to adult victims. The words of the book help victims regain sight of the God they thought deserted them in their time of need and affirms the goodness of God and his desire for all people to heal from their pain.

Sybil A. Bissell, M.A., C.Psych.(AB), J.D. is a retired Christian Psychologist from Alberta, Canada. She graduated from Fuller Theological Seminary with a Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Therapy in 1985. She graduated from the University of Alberta in 1999 with a Juris Doctorate from the Faculty of Law.


Sybil specialized in the treatment of sexual assault and incest, providing counseling services for victims and offenders for 20 years.
