Funny, polished, well-crafted whodunnit
At least as well crafted as Agatha Christie, and much funnier. Heyer has a most excellent turn of phrase with which she concisely sketches the personalities and emotional states of her characters. I don't laugh out aloud much when I'm reading, but Heyer's characterizations of the British aristocracy are hilarious, and they're just the icing on the cake.
