Works of Anton Chekhov
Chekhov simply astonishes. "The Lady with the Little Dog" is one of his most famous stories. I don't know of any other writer who captures the uncertainty, fear and thrill of romantic love as well as Chekhov does here. “The Steppe” takes place in southern Russia. It is about a nine-year-old boy Egorushka who is on his way to schooling in a small town in a remote province. “The Story of an Unknown Man” deals with a declining radical who takes a position in the home of one of his father's political opponents. "The Duel" has a great set of characters and some romance. All of Chekhov’s stories are wonderfully written.
