Instead they stumble upon the murder of a young birdwatcher on the Norfolk coast and decide to quietly do some investigating on their own. The first in a series starring these charming accidental sleuths, A Bird in the Hand is a cosy mystery in the classic sense. It’s subtle and character-driven, with more focus on details and settings than on violence as the couple move from Scotland to the Cornish coast trying to prevent a second slaying.

Did not enjoy this book at all, very hard to follow. Disappointing as I loved her other books
