Customer Reviews
Post apocalyptic story told through the viewpoints of two friends.
Dani and Zoe have been best friends for most of their lives, when a deadly virus leaves them among the few survivors but many miles apart, all they think about is finding each other again. Each has their own journey, their own companions and hardships that that encounter along the way.
The story jumps about between Zoe and Dani, two young women, in their twenties, each loses family, lovers or best friends in their struggles but they still keep going for each other.
I liked the premise of the story, I identified with the girls or young women but the story tended to drag a bit. There was often too much happening and too many characters appearing, it started to get overwhelming. I also dislike cliffhanger endings and this story has one.
A great read
The story captured me immediately, but I struggled with the dual point of view at times, getting mixed up with the two and it took me a while to enjoy the style of writing. Having a dog called Jack and a guy named Jake was pretty funny, as I misread them a few times. I did however love the characters more and more as I read and are very much looking forward to the next one.
Disappointing
The title had enough promise of a good read, but the narrative is essentially "chic lit" focused primarily on who was going to get laid by whom. Gave up after a chapter or two of that drivel.
