Fantastic short story
This is a the start of a new series and is a spin off of the Gargoyle Healer trilogy and features Mika’s friend Kylie. Kylie Grayson is a junior journalist trying to score a top article for the Chronicle, this achievement would score her a jewel of an assignment. To achieve her ends, she and her gargoyle companion Quinn enter a forested area which has been secured by Captain Grant Monaghan of the Federal Pentagram Defense team. It seems the usually gentle and timid dryads, which live in the woods are up in arms and are driving everyone out of the area. Grant is furious and tries to send them away but Kylie insists on aiding him as he investigates the situation.
