I’m a little conflicted with this story, I’m not normally a fan of sport related romance, I find them cocky and annoying but somehow Piper kinda hooked me, and while I didn’t adore Clay, I did love sweet Nova.
A plain Jane and a hot shot basketballer, it’s a match made in… well no where. A crazy flight, a man with an attitude and an upcoming wedding, this story was crazy. When Nova left Boston to visit her sister in Denver for her upcoming wedding, life for her wasn’t great, her boyfriend has dumped her, her job has been out on hold…. At least seeing her sister happy will make it all better. First she has to get through a flight, the mere thought has her hyperventilating. When she sees her fellow passenger, all of a sudden his arrogance makes her want to hyperventilate for others reasons.
When Nova discovers that passenger is a famous basket baller for the team her soon to be brother in law owns. If that’s not enough the man, the attitude, the hunk of goodness has Nova seeing a whole new side. The pair strike up a secret affair, it’s taboo because of her sister and new husband. But for Nova it’s a new beginning, to something she wants for her.
Clay seems like the bad boy to so many, but he’s a man fighting for his career, with an injury and a team owner he doesn’t like, playing basketball is what he wants… it’s his life. Until a woman in his seat on a flight, her bright pink hair and her complete melt down on a plane, is now sitting front and centre at the Kodiak’s basketball team.
Urgh I’m dragging on…. Anyway, Nova and Clay create a sweet, sexy “relationship”, gone is the drama of home, and hello to a man who makes a Nova feel like a wanted woman. Clay, well he could use some of that sweetness cause he’s a jerk, but he’s Novas jerk…
