As owner of Sweet Cakes Bakery, Larkin gets all the town gossip – the sugar, the spice, and the everything not so nice. So when she finds herself on the tip of everyone’s tongue thanks to an encounter with a mysterious and handsome stranger, she learns the true meaning of ‘if you can’t stand the heat, get out of the kitchen.’
Deacon Locke has spent his life traveling the world with no particular destination in mind. But when he rolls into Whynot on his Harley, he just knows there is something different about this town. What he doesn’t know is that out of all the places he’s traveled and all the people he’s met, the gorgeous bakery owner might just entice him to put down some solid roots.

Love
This is a somewhat bittersweet review because while I absolutely adored this book, and finished it in one sitting, I’m so sad to see the end of this series!
I identified with Larkin so much and just loved her. She’s very strong and smart but also so insecure about her looks. And Deacon is so sweet considering his bad boy looks and persona, so utterly swoon worthy! Lots of laughs, a wee bit of drama and some super hot chemistry!
Overall, it was An excellent end to one of my favourite series!
Fantastic addition to the series
This was a fun, quick read full of romance, laughter and love of family. This is Larkin Mancinkus and Deacon Locke’s story and I was captivated from the first to the last page. I really didn’t want to start this book as I believe this marks the end of the series which I have grown to love and yet once I started I couldn’t put it down.
Larkin is the owner of Sweet Cakes Bakery in town and as such is privy to most of the goings on and gossip in the small town. Ms. Poe describes Whynot in such great detail that I would love to visit. I love the idea of a small town where everyone knows you, although I think it could become invasive, which is what happens to Larkin in Gimme Some Sugar.
Deacon rides a Harley and is a free spirit, a wanderer, going wherever the road takes him, until he arrives in Whynot. Staying at the B & B that Larkin is part owner of, Deacon has never considered putting down roots until he meets Larkin. He is attracted to her even though they are total opposites, now all he has to do is convince her to go out with him. Larkin however is rather shy and has image issues and cannot understand why the hot biker would even look at her.
Deacon is totally swoon worthy and the way he cares for Larkin sent shivers down my spine; he really fits into her family with his fun and easy going manner. It was wonderful to watch the romance blossom and Larkin become more confident; Deacon was the perfect man for her.
I really love the dynamic of the Mancinkus family and I would love to be a member. The unconditional love and support that they give to one another makes for a heartwarming read that simply put, makes me smile.
Will Larkin give Deacon a reason to finally put down roots? One click this little gem now and find out…
