Daphne
I knew who I was before Olivier Durand came along. Despite growing up among the privileged elite, I never cared about corporate ladders or dream weddings. I proudly wear the label of social justice warrior. Until a car accident changes everything overnight. A video goes viral: Chicago’s Hottest Bachelor, billionaire Olivier Durand pulling me from my burning car. When he sets his sights on me, the whole world is watching. He can chase after me all he wants, but my answer will be the same: I loathe the ultra-wealthy. Even when they’re handsome, persuasive and...I have to admit, charming. It’s a hell no from me, though. Until suddenly, I’m not sure I’m the woman I thought I was.
Olivier
Now I know how the players on the NHL team I own must feel. Relentlessly hounded. Once the video of me pulling a woman from her burning car goes viral, privacy becomes a thing of the past. For whatever reason, Twitter has collectively decided this woman and I should become a romantic thing. A hashtag combining my name with hers is trending daily. Absolute nonsense. But then I meet her, and realize Twitter got it right. Daphne Barrington is beautiful, funny, brilliant and sweet. Now I just have to convince her to date me. Easier said than done. She’s maddeningly stubborn, and my deep desire to be with her soon has me writing massive checks. Not for jewelry or cars, but to charities. Winning Daphne’s heart is going to cost me, and I’m not sure even I have enough money to do it.

Ticked all my boxes
Olivier is the final book in the Chicago Blaze Series and what a perfect story to tie everything together with because this is owner of the Blaze and Daphne story. My only regret with this book is it ended way to soon and I wanted more but all that’s means is I will certainly be re reading this series because I love every member of the Blaze Hockey Team and I loved reading each and everyone of their stories.
Oliver may be rich and powerful but that doesn’t stop him coming to the rescue of Daphne when he comes across a road accident and he risks all my pulling her out of a burning car. Daphne comes from a wealthy family but she has put that life behind her, she instantly dislikes anyone with money but what she doesn’t know is Oliver will do what ever is needed to get what he wants because he wasn’t always rich, he has had to fight to get to were he is now. So will the attraction this couple share give them a chance at love or will money tear them apart....
This book ticked all my boxes, I swooned and I sighed, I smiled and I giggled as I joined this couple on their journey, it was wonderful getting to know the owner of the team I have come to love and it was also fantastic to catch up with the team but what took this book to another level was the love this couple shared even when they didn’t realise it themselves. Great job from the very talented Brenda Rothert and I’m excited for her next series.
Great addition to the series
From start to finish Brenda Rothert drew me in and held me captive with the story she wove about Olivier Durand and Daphne Barrington . This is the ninth book in the Chicago Blaze Hockey Romance series and was a fabulous addition.
Although Olivier is not a particularly long book, Ms.Rothert certainly packed a lot into it. I knew that the woman who captured his heart would need to be special and Daphne is certainly that.
Olivier is the owner of the Chicago Blaze team and when he rescues Daphne from her burning car, someone captures it on video and it goes viral. Olivier is attracted to the beautiful Daphne and is determined to have her, however Daphne is equally determined to have nothing to do with the wealthy hockey owner.
However the attraction that sizzles between Olivier and Daphne is explosive and once Olivier convinces Daphne to take a chance on him, all bets are off.
I loved these characters and it was wonderful to see familiar faces make an appearance as Olivier and Daphne finally get the happily every after that they deserve.
This is one of my favourite hockey series and I am sad to see it end with this book but Ms.Rothert certainly ended the series on a high.
